A-Team goodness!

I swear to God, Dwight Schultz IS the original Johnny Depp. His Murdock on "The A-Team" was nothing short of acting *genius,* and I would not be at all shocked to know that he was some inspiration at some level on Johnny. (The fact that Murdock wasn't even written into the first 13 episodes, and Dwight had to create his own character and come up with his own lines, is just fabulous.)

I never knew that.

I was always rather fond of Murdock - obviously it was Face that I fancied, but Murdock was so wonderfully nuts. Utterly crazy on the surface, but you just knew that there was a genius hiding under the crazy. And the man could fly anything with wings or a rotor.

One of the first rules of watching A-Team episodes: If a chopper showed up somewhere in the episode, you KNEW Murdock would end up piloting it at some point. It's like introducing the proverbial gun in an early act of a play.

Ah, the gun on the mantlepiece or the belt on the back of the door. And the helicopter.

There should be a list of "MUSTS" for the A-Team and us fans should come up with it. For example:

There is always at least one slashy moment between Face and Murdock in any given episode.

The chopper thing I mentioned above.

In every third episode, B.A. would have to be knocked out to fly.
