Oh Good God. One of my supposed best friends just gave the oh so fabulous "Johnny Depp is single! Pack your bags and go get him!" line. Whyyyy do people not understand the admiration I have for him? Ver, if Orlando were suddenly single, would you celebrate it? I mean, honestly people.

LOL ... the thing is, I was never after Orlando. He's pretty from a distance, but he's so not into the things I like, and vice versa. And as far as Johnny goes, I've always figured he's probably extremely high-maintenance, as most actors seem to be, so that ruled him right out.

See, I'm just saying, admiring an actor for his work and his general good attitude towards the world =/= want him for own personal love companion. Which no one in my circle seems to get, somehow. That admiring a man for his body of work (get your mind out of the gutter! Oh wait, that's me...) is as far as it goes. I am actually deeply unhappy for him and his kids, and on a lesser note, for Vanessa as well.

But gods yes, the fangirls will be awful for a few weeks. Or months, who knows. The entire media will be. Sucktastic.

I thought he broke up with Vanessa months ago so the "official" announcement came as a serious anticlimax.
As to the fangirls - haven't the fangirls been inserting fictional Johnny into themselves all along.
But that could just be me: my fictional alter-ego is a 6 foot tall red-haired warrior princess who has no relation to reality, so why would I let reality intrude on other aspect of my fantasy life.

I am actually a little sad that Johnny and Vanessa broke up. I am aware that, like most actors, JD bores easily and isn't too likely to remain faithful to any one person so I never anticipated he could stay with one person for a long time (25+ years) but he seemed so happy with Vanessa and his kids. Ah, well. Maybe he'll come out now and give some fanboys a chance.;)
