new TV show

Anyone else out there watching "American Horror Story" on FX? We're an episode behind (at least until tomorrow night), but I think so far my sister and I find it weirdly interesting.

(There's a dead guy in my icon. That's the closest I have to horror in my cache unless you count Liberal Jesus, I suppose.)

Speaking of horror, I am so glad I didn't care enough for the fourth POTC movie to buy the DVD; apparently, even if you spring for the Blu-Ray version, there are no deleted scenes - I hear you have to pony up for the 3D version to get those. Somebody at Disney's a pirate, but I don't think it's the people in the movie ......

We love AHS, and with you just being a week behind there's still so many spoilers I have to keep mum about.

We've noticed you don't get quite as much naked Dylan McDermott after the pilot, but it's still good.

Fortunately the spooky and interesting is keeping ahead of the cheesy, and hopefully they can keep it up at least through the season.

I don't know about naked Dylan, man. He's such a douchebag I really just want to see his balls so someone'll kick them at this point. ;-)

Hopefully I'll catch up tomorrow and then Wednesday!

p.s. At the beginning of one episode, in flashback, a black American car swept through the scene and we nearly freaked out at the possible homage until we realized it wasn't a vintage Impala.

I meant to start watching this show, need to find out more about it. :)

Fortunately our cable company keeps some of the past episodes in On Demand for free (well - it's not FREE considering what we pay each month) so we were able to catch up. Don't know if you have cable?

I'd comment but my neighbor just brought over some cupcakes. Gotta go
;P

DO NOT EAT THE CUPCAKES!

I REPEAT: DO *NOT* EAT THE CUPCAKES!! *G*

I would've thought of you as being the one to bake the cupcakes, actually. If you lived next door to the Halloween Committee chair, you know. ;-)

I haven't bought OST in any format. I suppose I will in time.

When I went to a preview screening they asked me if "It was the best Pirates movie ever?" When I politely said, "No." The PR people were stunned. Then they wanted to know why I felt that way.

Blackbeard wasn't scary.

Philip was bland.

I was still annoyed at all the character death in AWE. Specifically Will Turner and the Commodore.

"Oh, but you love Jack. We gave you Jack. It's the best pirates movie ever right?"

[identity profile] veronica-rich.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, and in the last three, you gave me Jack AND Will. What happened to him?"

[identity profile] keechakatt.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
Pirates wasn't Pirates without Will. I'm glad they kept Gibbs, but I missed Pint and Ragg's humor.

While Jack was awesome, as was Barbossa. The J/W chemistry made the first three movie so much fun for me. Not to mention the double eye candy.

OTS wasn't my favorite by a long shot. It genuinely puzzled PR why I wasn't overwhelmingly supportive. But as far as they are concerned the franchise is all about Jack.

They don't think about "secondary" characters, that have a huge following.

Yeah, I love Jack but some wounds never heal (Will and James). I liked 4 but it was NOT the best pirates movie ever. Not even close.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if you felt like Norrington could still come back in some fashion too. Or if he'd died some way other than pointlessly.

My sentiments exactly.
