first-line meme
Some meme that's been everywhere (and I'm two weeks late and ten dollars short, as usual), where you post the first line of your last 20 fics and look for patterns. I'm including drabbles, too.
1. Wandering alone was hardly where anyone would’ve expected to find Jack Sparrow.
2. Comfort in numbness.
3. “Land alive! I knew I shouldn’ta gone to sea.”
4.Upon (frequent) reflection, Jack wondered if he could’ve tied the damn blade into Will’s hand, then stood back and sort of gestured toward Jones’s oversized heart.
5. If anyone had asked Jack what he expected out of a sexual relationship with Will, it might’ve been … well, sex.
6. The heavy quiet of the room was what woke Jack, he later decided.
7. The first time Will had Transported him through wood had been a curiosity, a dare of sorts; Jack had doubted it could be done and Will, with a devilish gleam in his eye, had yanked his arm close and before Jack could protest, vanished them both in a shower of sawdust …
8. Christ, how he’d hated this man!
9. Jack resolved not to so much as touch his best friend’s son.
10. On a ship, the pirate captain regaled and distracted two gob-faced boys with tales of derring-do, annoyed when he was interrupted by a distant splash.
11. A decade he was hidden from mortals.
12. When the pouch showed up one morning on his anvil – the leather pouch pretty as you please, just sitting there, the neck slumped over drunkenly, with no note or anything – Will spent the better part of fifteen minutes scouring Brown’s smithy and quarters for the intruder.
13. So, the Commodore was looking for crew to man Jack Sparrow’s new ship, was he?
14. “James Norrington,” Elizabeth sighed, bending to help him out of the slop.
15. Leaning was not a talent Jack would’ve ever thought the formidable King Turner wouldn’t be possessing.
16. Oh, you know all about Father Christmas, is that it?
17. Dark hair with threads of gold … melting brown eyes … youthful, determined, spirited.
18. Ten years after the end of Earth was … simply ten years later for the everchanging crew of the now literal Flying Dutchman.
19. When he raised his welding helmet, he heard muffled strains of … something. (Bonus: NOT POTC)
20. “Think you can just show up whenever th’ mood takes you?”
So - anyone see a pattern? Other than the obvious slashtasticness?
