potcfest. The latest entry is calling for prompts, until August 5. You don't have to enter the prompt you want to write; in fact, it's better to put one in that you'd like to read. And, you're not assigned anything - you pick what you want to write from a list of prompts in a few days, and you have a month to do it.
I found this to be a good way to step outside my usual area. For the last prompt I wrote Hatchling Rising, an Elizabeth-centric story. Try it!
