I'll take Door #2, Monty. The few times Elizabeth has shown emotional weakness, it didn't last long, and it generally was in response to some inward feeling, not to confrontation - she seems to thrive on the latter, insofar as being able to parry back verbally. She's not the type to slink off and pout in the middle of an argument, IMO.
It often seems that neither of them realize that Will needs/wants them both.
Considering Will himself was wanting to deny it, you can't blame the objects for being blind to it, too, LOL.
