When will we see a PotC/Trek crossover fic?
Dude, it's been done. Go read ...
Name 1 thing not many people know about you.
I wanted to fly, so I applied to the Air Force in high school, but was turned down on the weight limit, so I took a night aviation class in college and passed the pilot's ground test with a rather high score. But I couldn't afford more than a couple of actual lessons in the air, so I never got that coveted pilot's license. :-(
If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?
I'm going to take advice from a "Friends" character here and choose Princess Consuela Bananahammock.
Do you believe in the afterlife?
To paraphrase Chris Rock from "Dogma," I think believing anything that comes to the metaphysical or religious is a mad, bad, dangerous idea. So I'll just say I have a feeling there might be an afterlife, sure. There are things I'd like to know and do at some point in my existence, and they are things I know will never be possible in my mortal lifetime. *G* Plus, while I don't know that I'd want to spend ALL eternity with my dead relatives - there's a reason I moved hundreds of miles away - I'd like the option of popping over and visiting with them whenever I felt like it.
On the topic of abortion, how do you feel about cookies?
I firmly believe it should be against the law to remove chocolate chips or morsels from any cookie dough in which they've already been implanted. God wanted that chocolate there, or He wouldn't have made your elbow knock the bag into the bowl, so we should honor that by suffering the warm, melted chocolate gooeyness.

Do you think there will ever be another TurnerCon?
Oh, I do hope so. It's been mostly a positive experience for me. Maybe in a few months ...?
Who is your favorite Star Trek character, any series?
Data, probably because of the way his actor played him. He had no emotions for several years, but there was always a hint of it anyway, especially the eybrows.
Have you ever shipped canon? *grin*
Data/Tasha Yar, for absolute YEARS. Actually, with TNG, I liked the "established" pairings, canon or otherwise: Riker/Troi, Picard/Crusher, etc. The only one I was never really down with was Worf/Troi. I liked him much better with K'Ehlar (sp?), Alexander's mother.
Why is Will your favorite POTC character?
I started out liking all of them in 2003, but particularly Jack and Will together and separately. I guess I liked the way
metalkatt imagined Will in our later joint writing/chat efforts - he had a backbone and a smart mouth, and a brain, and it was a pleasant departure from the widespread "wet bitch Will" so often written in early POTC fanfics (not all, but widespread). I cannot stand a strong/weak pairing (in fiction or IRL). After DMC came out and I would see discussions about how liberating being with Jack would be for poor, oppressed Elizabeth, I (foolishly) would become part of said discussions, wanting to know precisely how it was that Will was oppressing her. Between many contrived and nonsense answers, and the Will-bashing I saw in a lot of J/E fic at the time (again, not all, but widespread), I guess fandom sort of swayed me in his direction. As for the character himself, I'll say the same thing I did about Data: It has a lot to do with how the actor played him. Here's a relatively uninspiring stock character (on paper) given some life by well-placed scowls, eyerolls, and pratfalls, not to mention voice inflections and uncomfortably good looks.
How long have you had your current job?
Close to three years. It'll be time to move on in a couple or three more! :-D
