So today was my day off instead of tomorrow, because my boss wants to have a meeting tomorrow with me and my co-worker who is normally there on my day off (we all alternate days off). I don't anticipate anything bad; that's just my explanation for watching TV at 2 in the afternoon to see Spongebob Squarepants trying to find someone to teach him to tie his shoes. "DOESN'T ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TIE A KNOT?" he finally yells.
And, in response, the Flying Dutchman shows up (the ghost that haunts Bikini Bottom). Turns out he knows every knot BUT that one. "I haven't worn shoes in 5,000 years!" he exclaims, pulling out an old gym sock. "But sometimes I like to wear this little sock over me ghostly tail." (Well, Gary the snail saves the day as being the only creature around that can actually tie a lace. See my mood theme for Gary.)
And, of course, I'm spending my day trying to avoid reading polls and speculation about the New Hampshire primary (easier said than done). Of what we have presented, I'm still hoping for John Edwards to take a lead; what I have against Barack Obama is a decided lack of experience and political connections within Congress and its committees to get things passed. (Plus, I'm sort of worried he wants to screw around with Social Security, from hints of things I've picked up.) Hillary Clinton - just no. She can't even own up that her vote to support funding for the Iraqi war in 2002 was mistaken (something Edwards, at least, has done repeatedly) or come up with a good withdrawal plan. However - I'll vote for whichever one ends up going against the Republicans, because there is a party that needs to be kicked out for 8-12 years to clean up within and get rid of the neocon influence. (Can you believe the "third party"-Bloomburg initiative is being backed by what you would call "traditional" Republicans? Have they lost control of their own party in such manner that it's come to this?)
You know how your mood theme groups emotions into families and uses one picture for several? What "family" is "lethargic" in to produce Gary being tossed up in the air?
