Geeminy, a nice place
Dec. 10th, 2007 07:12 amI frequently go through
despatches for stories I've missed in POTC fandom and occasionally find communities I haven't heard about (I'm sure there are dozens; my scope is admittedly limited), and one I found last night was
willelizabeth. I'm hardly a W/E fan, but I checked it out because hey, I like Will and it seems one of the few places you could probably expect positive fic about the character (and no obligatory "I hate canon Will" comments - yay!).
Surfing through their archives, I haven't made it quite back to the time of DMC's theatrical release just yet, but I did get back to late 2006 and have to say I'm impressed at the tone of the place. Except for the very occasional "I don't get what the J/E fans see," it's overwhelmingly positive for the 'ship and the characters, and there are a fair number of
sparrabeth members who also belong - perhaps because the members don't spend their time bashing other 'ships (or Jack!) to justify their own? (Though I do notice the level of crazy seems to have gone down dramatically in
sparrabeth in recent months, which is perhaps a credit to a new mod or two.)
Even if you're not a big W/E fan, if you can stand to read them at all and like either character on their own, it's a good place to check out; occasionally you can find a fic that focuses more on one character than the other.
