Now I admit I've never seen any other Rizzo, but I can't imagine many can pull off Channing's level of crusty unladylikeness. (Why yes, "Grease" is on ABC Family. I highly suspect they'll cut out the good lyrics of "Greased Lightnin'" though ...)
Rizzo was always my favorite. And the way Kenickie defends her nonexistent honor is SO ADORABLE - he wasn't any too bright, but I still loved the guy. (Though I always expected her honor was less tarnished than she let on.) Of course, it didn't hurt Jeff Conaway was also on "Taxi" and anyone on that show automatically gets a career free pass from me. I could never decide if I liked him or Danny more (sort of like choosing between Will and Jack, I think - except Will wouldn't have ended up in the back seat with Rizzo, most likely).
I don't remember how many times I conned my parents into taking me to see this; for you young'uns, this was years before VCRs. Between "Grease" and "Stir Crazy" I'm sure the MPAA would've had a collective heart attack over the movies my parents let a 7-year-old watch. *G*
ETA: Okay, I did not detect the slashy vibe between Danny and Kenickie when I was 7, I must say. *tries to imagine a musical version of CotBP in this style*
