*HEARTS*

I KNEW there were other reasons I loved the guy (Canterbury Tales **hearts**). It's a bit slow-loading for some odd reason, but if you're interested, check out Orlando Bloom's travel guide to London and Kent.

I know [livejournal.com profile] ainsoph15 lives in London, so she might particularly enjoy reading this. But others of you probably know some of these places as well, or have been to them? (My sister wants to go to England sometime and maybe I'll just keep this as a way to get around, LOL.)

Thanks for directing to this!
It was quite entertaining. I'm going to have to try out some of those eateries when I go to London again (Rachel and I are considering a trip in a couple years).

I will say I am quite surprised that my favorite visiting spots in London are also Orlando's. Hyde Park was right outside of my hotel's front door and I spent a few hours there reading a book and just watching the people. Also, the Tower is unlike anything else. They make you watch a video reel of the Queen's coronation as you walk in a zig zag line to get into see the crown jewels. It was fascinating the first two times I saw the loop, by the fifth time I was ready to plow over the 20 people separating me from the damn jewels. LOL

That would be because it's 'Canadian Living' I'm convinced their server is a moose on a tread mill. Cheap, lazy bastards.

That was cool and fun, if a bit older (Johnny was apparently filming 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'), but likely, still all kinds of relevant. I also would love to travel to the British Isles at some point, and some of this stuff would be kinda cool and fan-girly to do. Whee!

*chokes, coughs, snorts*

I imagine the "IT Department" is three guys who rotate in 8-hour shifts to hold a feedsack just beyond the front end of the machine. "C'mon, boy! Just a bit further! Look, OATS!"

Exactly! And I suspect that the bags of oats is periodically substituted with a picture of a nice smelly swamp and the occasional sultry lady moose, just to keep things interesting.

I vaguely remember going to the Tower of London. I don't remember much about it. We may have skipped the crown jewels. (I'm not much for bling. The h-unit most certainly didn't give a damn about it. :-p)

I do remember the Wax Museum. My panties were in a twist over seeing David Bowie there, way back when. :D (We'll be coming up on a 20th anniversary in just a couple more years - the perfect excuse for that kind of expenditure. And Orlando Bloom at Madame T's!)

I know I went to a zoo, as well. I believe it was the London zoo (but one zoo looks pretty much like another, when you're 20).

Never made it to Canterbury. *is sad* Or Liverpool. *is very sad*

Not closing tonight. (And that is an oddity.) Maybe I'll actually get some sleep. :-)

Heh .. I stoled it! I wish I'd made it - I still haven't taken the time to figure out .gifs ...

Oh wow! This is so cool! You know, I really should pop over to Canterbury, seeing as it's just ---> over there. I want to go to that Chaucer exhibit!

God, I'd love to know if it was student accom. he was staying in when he was living near the BT tower, because damn, a location like that is really expensive to rent under normal circumstances *feels faint at the thought* Heh. I was round that very part of London about a month ago on my way to a meeting. Good thing I didn't know at the time, or I'd have been late because I'd have been wandering around trying to guess which building it was!

I did all the London sightseeing when I was a kid, but I've had a real hankering to go back to the Tower recently. Not for the jewels, just for the place itself. I want to see the ravens again! Oh, and Fortnum's is definitely the best place for tea, he's got that right. Much, much better than Harrods, or the Ritz. I prefer Valerie's in Soho overall, though, because they have the best cakes and pastries in London, IMO (man, I loooove the cake).

Oh, and how much do I adore that he's a Marmite lover? Nom nom nom. He tastes of Twiglets XD

Thank you so much for the link! I've been to both places. To London even several times since I just love this city. So now I know where to go at my next visit :)
