Menu Foods recall

Everyone who goes to the trouble of caring for a pet wants to keep them safe. Menu Foods apparently announced a recall of both wet cat foods and dog foods sold under various labels and grocery chains through the U.S. The company is in Canada, so they may be sold there, too. Apparently some animals have already died or suffered renal problems from this food, so please check your labels. (And hope that this isn't some weird Internet hoax. I checked the company's site and affiliations, and noted that this has been reported in respectable media outlets, too.)

Yet one more argument for a balanced home cooked diet for pets. Interesting that all those brands are made by one company. You think you have a choice but really it is all the same brand, sortof.

Also interesting that there are some so-called premium brands too like Iams and Euka. They're all junk in my opinion, too many carbs to start with and frankly, they look sickening, Iams especially. The American public are suckers for advertising.

I was horrified when I read this yesterday. The first thing I did was check to see if any of it was what Munchkin eats. She's fine but I feel terrible for all of the pets and humans hurt.

Thanks for posting this. My father told me about this report, but I didn't have time to look into it myself (good thing my dog eats dry food)
