Travelled here by way of "A Sorta Fairytale", and I love this too! The two stories work so well together, especially--keeping the hero/fairytale theme. And how they're really both about identity--Elizabeth's identity meant that she needed to get away from both Will and Jack, whereas Will needed to 'become human' by going back. (He certainly lost his identity alone in the colonies.)
Jack in this was just...guh. Brill. I love it when you get that sort of subtle role-reversal--they're still Jack and Will, but Jack is now in the (right) position of vulnerability. You can see so clearly how much power Will has over him, and Will has gone through just enough bitterness that you're afraid he'll turn Jack down at the end out of spite--but as usual, he's just a little wiser than I think. Won't admit it, but he is.
And yes, Jack bringing Will candy is unbelievably cute. *g*
