your daily funny

I know Daniel Tosh isn't P.C. or the best comic ever. He's still fucking funny and there's some great shit out there on the Internet. For example (ETA: This was posted to Tosh's site and I stole it for my PB account. In case you're puzzled, THAT'S why I led off mentioning him):

Also, felicitations to my birthday twin, [livejournal.com profile] nel2012 - may we both have many more years of "appreciating" Will Turner! :-D

Have you sat through an entire Tosh spiel? My son loves him and every now and then I'm bombarded by one of his routines. I won't deny that he's funny. He's also sexist, racist, and just plain jerky. I wish he'd use his talents for something other than lowest common denominator humor, but I think that is what sells. Obviously. There are always a couple of jokes in every show that make me see red. So, um, no. No love for him.

This is another post waiting to be written, but essentially people like him use humor to basically forward a pretty ugly agenda. IMO.

He's an equal opportunity offender and doesn't show favoritism to white males. I like how he picks on the stupid, because some of it really needs to be picked on; there's nothing flattering or complimentary you can say about a girl who gets so drunk she stands up and lets the ceiling fan whack her in the face, I'm sorry. I was once young, too, and I laughed at idiots my own age who pulled that stuff; if they'd been dumb enough to do it in front of a camera or post it, I would've laughed harder.

I like trying to figure out what parts of it are an act and what parts are what he actually thinks. I accept that I can find something problematic and still laugh at some of it.
