Ah, the port security ...

Haven't heard much on my f-list about the Dubai Ports World buyout that would give them security access to major U.S. ports. Questions I haven't seen posed by the major media (and maybe I'm just not reading/listening to the right reports; please feel free to share links) include:

Why has it been all right for the Bush administration to invoke the horrors of 9/11 every time it's been to their political advantage, but in light of this pending business transaction, it's not such a big deal?

How did the administration manage to link the jihad-fueled 9/11 to Iraq's secular regime, yet sees absolutely no link from 9/11 to the UAE, a creation that has been PROVEN to have a link with at least some of the 9/11 hijackers?

Who - or rather, how many - in this administration has a financial stake in Dubai Ports World and how much profit do they stand to realize with this sale and future business as a result of it? Nothing these people do or approve is nonprofit for themselves. NOTHING.

Oh, I think you and I know those people better than most, don't we? We wouldn't have jobs without them, sometimes. *G*

I am of the school that if I have an important question I think my readers would ask or critically need to know, and I don't get an answer or I'm discouraged from asking, I'll put in that I attempted to find out and how I was thwarted. At least they'll know I was doing my job, in that case.

I do the same thing with my stories and information with-held. Readers need to know that we at least tried to get the information to them.
