I would expect to find non-sexist stuff in the 80s. It was the era of Baby Boom, Mr. Mom, 3 Men and a Baby, The Color Purple, Aliens. Even in stuff like Top Gun, there were women doing something other than being helpless victims. Nowadays we take strong independent female characters for granted, but that's because of those kind of films. Ironically, in RL the smart, strong, sexy women have been replaced as role models for young girls by trophy wives and skank-celebutants.
