account credits
So, I'm confused about the $10 account credit things. I've received two from well-meaning friends, but apparently I can't combine those? And if I accept one and pay the $9.95 to sign up for one year, I'm also committing myself to being automatically billed in a year for another subscription to paid account at that time - and every year thereafter?
That's what the FAQ info page seemed to imply, anyway.

(I'm not as upset by the gender identity-box issue as I ought to be, I guess, possibly because I've had to fill out these things before and have more than once screwed with ticky boxes by checking "male" instead of "female." I figure the ability to say anything I want and read anything I want online comes with some cost - I'm just glad it's as banal as advertising, which I can ignore.)
