Oh, I know why she was picked, I was being facitious. :)

But, to me at least, a VP candidate SHOULD be able to run the country if there is a need. I am old enough to remember Kennedy's assasination, and Nixon's impeachment. Heaven forbid if McCain HAD won and dropped down dead from a heart attack or something during his term. Regardless of the "Al Haigs" who think they'd be in charge, the second in command would take over.

I shudder to think what would happen to this country with someone like Sarah Palin running it.
