Your first sentence grabbed me right into this piece (you've a bit of a knack for that!) Jack is great in this, I love that he would notice what was going on with the two groups and their imaginary border, his eye for detail with the British soldiers worn uniforms, his mental asides as he ticks off the Things I Should Have Thought About, and his swan dive into the sea! "Damned if you do and damned if you don't but might as well get your trip in!" I love that sentiment! It's very Jack! One can only imagine the Sparrow antics that caused dear old Nan to voice it to begin with. Great little 'day in the life of Jack Sparrow' story, we can never have too many of these! Thanks.
