As your fic does not explicitly say what happens to the child, I will fondly believe Will saves him.

I think this is my first "ambiguous" moment as a fanfic writer ... I want to savor it. *G* (Who knows? Will may have saved all of them - or none. I'll let you decide, I think. More fun that way.)
