(Shortly after I posted this, I was perusing another community courtesy of despatches (which is where I found the Rhett-Scarlett thing some time ago), and I found a POTC feminist who actually admitted something was a woman's fault in the series. No, it wasn't Elizabeth, but hey! My point of course, being that before your comment here, I was beginning to have hope.)
