So many fics out there gloss this over - either Will's turned into an asshole or (more often) he's a beneficent godly figure bringing joy, peace, light, and blanket forgiveness into a cheating Elizabeth's life. I grant you that Will Turner seems to have more forgiveness in his soul than the average human ... but come on.
I think Calypso just represented Jones's bitterness. Any person who would give up what they are just to satisfy someone else is going to eventually regret it - and anyone who accepts it ought to be, as well. Calypso obviously didn't have to give up a thing about herself, and Jones had to give up everything - so I'm less "RAWR RANT FEMINISM UNJUST!" about her imprisoning in mortal form than I would be otherwise. I think she deserved what she got - and so did Jones.

Yet another fallacy perpetrated by rabid anti-Will fans - "How could Will get Elizabeth pregnant?" My eyes always fall out of my head when I read that, because I think Of all the things in this series, THIS is what you're going to question? Um ... undead zombie pirate monkey! LOLOL
