I think if Will could be released after 10 years of service and stay on land doing whatever, he'd be as happy as a clam about it. I don't think he'd avoid the sea - I just think he would set foot ON unless it was necesary to get somewhere. (And the poor guy, his kids are probably going to take after their mother.)
