Both of their denials of 'friendship' in DMC. How Jack was completely lost, totally adrift, scrambling and bumbling in sheer panic, until Will showed up and Jack suddenly had a plan (Will's damn handy in a tight spot ;P).
Will opening up to Jack in AWE about his fears about Elizabeth, he's confused and uncertain, possibly even afraid, he has no one else. Jack gets it and doesn't immediately blow him off. Jack's big altruistic act, while it may have been for Elizabeth ond/or Will, mostly it was for himself. Jack did not want Will to die.
